Direction: Balaji

Production: K T Kunjumon

Cast: Theja, Meera Nandan, Suhasini, Sarayu, Saranraj

Music:  Bharadwaj

Bhardwaj seems to on a roll after giving super-hit music of ‘Asal’. His latest offering is ‘Kadhalukku Maranamillai’ which is also the comeback vehicle of producer K T Kunjumon, renowned for making lavishly budgeted movies before. The lyrics have been written by two famous lyricists of Tamil cinema, Vaali and Vairamuthu. Movie has been directed by C Balaji and stars Theja, Meera Nandan, Suhasini, Sarayu, Saranraj etc. Album has been blessed by the quality voices of Chitra, Shankar Mahadevan, Benny Dayal and Karthik among others.

Album begins with ‘Ekkachakkam Ekkachakkam’ crooned by Suchitra. It is quite a different song with touch of seduction. Lyrics are fascinating and song has a rustic Arabic touch. Suchitra has done a great job here. Bhardwaj should be commended for using perfect instrumentation.

‘En Idhayam’ is the next song of the album. Sung by Bhardwaj himself and super talented Chitra, the track has a classical feel about it. Lyrics again is very impressive that makes this romantic number a good choice for this Valentine Day. Song has clear vocals and soft scale which feels very soothing.

Shankar Mahadevan and Janani have crooned ‘Ishq Ishq Kadhal’. A completely energetic song, it is more like a mix of many things. You will find fusion of east and west along with shades of Punjabi Qwwalli. Shankar, as usual, is in terrific form.

The next track is ‘Kadavule Un Kovilil’ rendered by Benny Dayal and Surmukhi. This is more like a Spanish salsa in Tamil format. A racy number with heavy instruments.

The album ends with ‘Ennalum Winner Thaan’ in the voice of Karthik. Perhaps the best song of the album backed up by Karthik’s amazing voice, wonderful lyrics and commendable music by Bhardwaj. All in all, album does offer you some noticeable variety.

Kacheri Aaramban stars Jeeva, Poonam Bajwa, Vadivelu, JD Chakravarthy and Azhagam Perumal. Movie has been directed by Thiraivannan and music has been composed by Imman. The talented composer has got his popularity based on racy and fast tracks. The young gun has once again composed pacy tracks in this album. All the singers for the album belong to the youth brigade and effect of that is very much reflected in album’s energy level.

Album begins with ‘Azhagu Azhagu’ rendered by Bela Shende. Though, the lyrics are not exactly on the stronger side yet the song coupled with singer’s voice has a cool appeal to it. Good beginning to the album. ‘Kacheri Kacheri’ sung by Madhushree and Mukesh is the next song of the album. Song has Imman mark all over it what with its racy music, catchy rhythms and wonderful sound quality. Both the singers have done a commendable job.

‘Kadavule’ is the track rendered by Dr Palash Sen of Euphoria fame. The song has two versions in the album. This version has a classic feel to it. Tempo is even throughout the duration of the song. D Imman, Varun and Roe Vincent have crooned together for ‘Kadavule (A Rock Star)’. Typical ‘Imman’ song with catchy lyrics as well.

Popular Hindi singer Shaan has given his voice for ‘Vithai Vithai’. Beats are energetic and will satisfy popular public demand. A peppy song, it is sure to rock the charts. The last song of the album, ‘Vaada Vaada’ has been sung by Anitha, Karthikeyan and Watta Bottles. Song is mix-up of everything including western and classical music. Perhaps, the pick of the album. An album for all the Imman fans.

They have already worked before in ‘Parijatham’ needless to say, movie has some wonderful music.

Produced by Capital Film Works whose previous works include ‘Chennai 600028’ and ‘Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum, Naanayam is a much awaited film of 2010. Directed by debutant director Shakti K Rajan, the movie stars Prasanna and Sibiraj in lead roles. It is for the first time that Sibiraj is playing a negative role in the film on the contrary Prasanna is playing the protagonist.

Based on the theme of bank robbery, the film is pacy and full of action. Prasanna and Sibiraj make an amazing combo and the audience can be sure of expecting some real action and drama from them. Since a long time films like these haven’t been made so Naanayam will be a different experience for the viewers who have been seeing the same type of films over some time.

The music for this movie has been given by James Vasanthan. The number ‘Thanga kadhava thora da…Vanga kadalaa siri da…’ is one of the highlights of the film. Naanayam has a contemporary feel to it. The young audience will be able to relate to the film and the style of the film is also totally different. Not just songs, but the background score too is brilliantly done. In ‘Naanayam’, there is a challenging mind game between Prasanna and Sibiraj. Singer S P Balasubramaniam is also playing an important role in ‘Naanayam’ Seems like Shakti K Rajan is a promising talented filmmaker who will delight the audience with this film. The script also seems gripping. On the whole, ‘Naanayam’ will be a different experience to the audience.

The movie Renigunta was in news recently because of its focus on a complicated subject like juvenile criminals. The movie has been directed by debutant director Pannerselvam who is also known for his earlier association with filmmaker Lingusamy. Renigunta is basically an action packed movie and the music of the film has been composed by first timer Ganesh Raghavendra. The duo of first-timers has tried their best in giving some fine music. Renigunta boasts of experienced singers like Harish Raghavendra, Bombay Jayashree, Vijay Yesudas and Shreya Ghosal etc. The album begins on a melodious note with ‘Mazhai Peyyum’. Well known singer Harish Raghavendra has lent his mellifluous voice to this soft song. A good beginning definitely augurs well for rest of the album.

The next song of the album is ‘Thallakulam’ sung by hugely talented Silambarasan. Surely this number is very likely to find its feet among youths because of its racy rhythms and appealing beats. A song for youths, essentially. ‘Kandaen Kanmaniyae’ crooned by Shreya Ghoshal is the next number. A very pleasant song that has simple but effective lyrics.

The famous carnatic singer Bombay Jayashri has rendered her voice to next song of the album, ‘Vizhigalilae’. It has got wonderful lyrics coupled with strong classical backing. Next song of the album is “Odipolaama – Junkyard version” rendered by Arathi Kankilar & Dinesh Kanagaratnam. Fast and furious is how I will describe this number. It’s a good fusion of ray score and hip-hop music. Everything about the song is totally trendy. Last song of the album is “Vaalu Paiyane”, sung by Anitha & Ranjith. This one is just an average number. Overall, the album Odipolaama promises to be liked and loved by younger generation.
