One music composer that has often been associated with fast beats and peppy rhythms then it must be Vijay. He is quite popular among the children and youngsters because of his modern music. He delivers what the young guns demand. Most of his songs are quite pacy and that explains their popularity among the generation Y. His last major hit was ‘Nakka Mukka’ that was well received and appreciated by all and sundry. This album has several fast songs sans any significant melody. So probably, old generation will not be able to identify with the songs but young ones, well, they are sure to love them.
The album starts with ‘Puli Urumudhu’ that has been sung by Ananthu and Mahesh Vinayakram. The song is about sharing of vision and thoughts by the lead character. Quite a racy tune, it is sure to enthrall Vijay’s fans. The next one is ‘Chinna Thamarai’ that again is a peppy number. Suitably sung by talented duo of Krish and Suchithra, this number is more suited for dance buffs. The beginning of the song is with a rap intro and soon it catches sped. The beats are heavy and of course, very striking. The use of trumpets is praiseworthy.
Shankar Mahadevan has sung the next song ‘Naan Adicha’ and needless to say, it is peppy and folkish in nature. It’s a very energetic number and the singer has done a commendable job here. The song slowly gathers the pace and then completely mesmerizes you. ‘Karigalan’ is the next song and sung by Surchith and Sangeetha Rajeshwaran. It has good usage of guitar. The last song of the album is ‘Uchimandai’ rendered by Krishna Iyer, Shoba Sekar, Charulatha Mani and Shakthi Sree. A great song to finish the album, all in all Vettaikkaran is quite promising.
