Yuvan Shankar Raja is prone to giving some blockbuster hits every once in a while. However, his recent releases did not exactly set musical charts on fire. Questions were being raised on his form and wonder how does he reply? He comes with music of Paiyaa and needless to say, it is one of the best albums of the year. This also looks like a perfect swansong to 2009 from talented composer. Yuvan has composed songs in association with Lingusamy and songs have come out real gems. Music lovers have already taken this album to their hearts and no doubt Music Company is laughing all the way to the bank.
The movie Paiyaa stars Karthi and Tamannah. Lingusamy had also claimed about the good quality of the music and he proved to be right. The album begins with “Adada Mazhaida” sung by talented duo of Rahul Nambiar and Saindhavi. Quite a peppy song this one is and will remind you of “Dhavani Potta Deepavali” from Sandakozh. Try to focus on the rendition towards the end and you will be totally impressed with the folk template. Second song of the album is “En Kadhal Solla” rendered by Yuvan himself. One thing strikes about this song and that is orchestration. Humming part of the song will directly touch your soul.
“Poongatre Poongatre” is the third song of the album, sung by Benny Dayal. Lyricvs are good and song has a catchy tune. Younger lots will definitely like the song. The next number is “Suthudhe Suthudhe” sung amazingly well by Karthik and Sunitha Sarathy. We can safely consider this one as best song of the album. The last song of the album is “Thuli Thuli” which has been rendered by Haricharan and Tanvi. A perfect song to finish the album with. It will touch your heart.
